Sandburg’s Eger, Reeves-Eakins Voted to All-Region IV Women’s Basketball Team

The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team’s two leading scorers, Addison Eger (Mendon, Ill./Unity) and Carley Reeves-Eakins (Branson, Mo./Reeds Spring), were voted by coaches to the All-Region IV Division II team.
A 5-foot-9 guard, Eger tops Sandburg in scoring at 12.9 points per game and has reached double figures in five of the Chargers’ seven contests. The freshman also averages 3.3 rebounds per game and has shot 72.2 percent from the foul line. Eger’s best performance of the regular season came in a March 6 win over Milwaukee Area Tech in which she scored a season-high 27 on 12-for-25 shooting.
Reeves-Eakins earned all-region honors on the hardwood while also pulling double duty with the Chargers volleyball team this season. The 5-11 forward is second to Eger in scoring at 10.6 points per game while leading the Chargers in field goal percentage (44.3 percent) and blocks (10). She’s also second on the team in rebounding, averaging 7.7 per contest.
Reeves-Eakins has two double-doubles this season, highlighted by a 22-point, 14-rebound, five-block performance March 11 at Moraine Valley in which she shot 7 of 11 from the field. She followed that up with an 11-point, 11-rebound effort March 18 at Highland.
Sandburg opens the Region IV tournament on the road at 3 p.m. Thursday against South Suburban.
